Mexican Women on the Migration Frontier: Family, Faith, and Well-being
Using a community-based participatory and action research approach, Dr. Letiecq has been working in partnership with the Mexican migrant community in Montana since 2008. Their work has centered on identifying the legal and health challenges facing this community, how migrant families cope in a new settlement area, and the role of migrant women in promoting the well-being of their families. For this seminar, Dr. Letiecq and members of the Migrant Community Advisory Board (Salud y Comunidad: Latinos en Montana) will share what they have learned so far and the action steps they have taken to support migrant health in Montana.
