Monday, July 1, 2013 to Saturday, July 6, 2013
Reid Hall, 101, 102, 103

The Department of Intercollege Programs for Science Education is pleased to announce the Fifteenth Annual Symposium in Science Education, July 1 - July 6, 2013.  Ninety-five candidates from the Master of Science in Science Education (MSSE) program will be delivering presentations on their final capstone research projects in rooms 101, 102, and 103 of Reid Hall.

Presentations will begin at 8:00 am each morning and will continue through 5:00 pm each day.  MSU faculty, staff, and the general public are welcome to attend the presentations which will focus on teaching and learning science or on field-based science research.  A program and schedule of the event can be found at: 2013 Capstone Program combined.pdf

Candidates will celebrate completion of the MSSE program at a graduation dinner on Thursday, July 4 in Ballroom A of the Student Union Building.  Ms. Susan Kelly, MSSE course facilitator and instructor, will deliver the address.  Susan was the MSU-based outreach coordinator for the WISSARD team who recently made headlines when they successfully bore through an 800 meter ice sheet in Antarctica to retrieve samples from the sub-glacial lake below.  Dr. Ronald Larsen, Interim Graduate Dean, will recognize this year's graduates.
